Using the WVU Logotype vs. Department Wordmarks
WVU Logotype
Purpose
The WVU Logotype is a formal visual representation the University.
When to Use
- Print materials: academic brochures, flyers and official University publications.
- Web and digital platforms: departmental websites, online reports, and academic presentations.
- Academic apparel: This is difficult to embroider, so we do not recommend using this. If you choose to use this on apparel, we highly recommend that it is screen printed.
- Promotional product: Recommended for a more formal use.
Notes
- Always use the official, approved version of your department’s logotype — do not alter, stretch, or modify it.

Notes
- Always use the official, approved version of your department’s wordmark — do not alter, stretch, or modify it.
